One of my favorite games growing up was Don't Break the Ice. While there isn't a lot of strategy to play the game, it was still rather fun to play. Years later we bought a Don't Break the Ice game for my nephew and I to play.
Most of the game pieces looked the same; the ice seemed a bit smaller though. However, they changed the main piece of the game; they changed the character that belongs on the middle ice block! Gone was the man sitting on a chair or, as we called him, man sitting on a toilet. He was replaced with what looks like a polar bear with ice skates on and a hat.
I suppose that the bear is better for kids ... but I miss the original piece. After all, one of my goals as a child was making sure that that man on the toilet didn't fall into the water!
Luckily I was able to find a few parts from my original game including the little red man in our attic. If I ever play Don't Break the Ice again you better believe that I won't use that new polar bear!
